Filings are delayed and incomplete
A 13F reports covered positions at a historical quarter end and may be filed weeks later. It does not show a manager’s complete portfolio, cash, short positions, most derivatives, or trades after the report date. Amendments can change the public record.
Estimates are not current positions
A price-updated estimate applies a later cached closing price to the last disclosed share count. The manager may have bought, sold, hedged, transferred, or otherwise changed the exposure. Closing prices are not real time.
Methods involve choices
Manager selection, security mapping, option exclusion, share-class treatment, missing-price handling, and weighting affect a combined portfolio. Review the methodology and source filing for each figure.
